When outdoor leisure sports began to progress, Cornilleau were one of the first to break with generally accepted ideas and to imagine a table that could resist to extremes of weather and stay outside without deterioration. A new direction had been forged. Cornilleau, who pioneered in the use of high density resin laminate for the manufacture of outdoor tables, also invented the process of panel assembly directly on the frame, making use of expansion joints to withstand climatic stress, a technique borrowed from aeronautics. Intensive research and development undertaken by Cornilleau together with the largest manufacturers in the industry also gave birth to a process that integrated the white lines of the panel with the melamine, making the lines inalterable, and to the MATTOP antiglare coating. |
